My name is Suzanne Adey I am a qualified, BACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with 20 years experience in the NHS and healthcare settings in Merseyside. I have worked with clients with a very broad range of issues. I am also a Zen Practioner and ordained monk. I offer counselling and psychotherapy in Liverpool for a broad range of issues pertaining to life and death - of both a spiritual and non-spiritual nature. If in doubt, give me a call, I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

I work with people just like you, who want to create a real long-lasting positive change in their lives! I am deeply passionate about my work and about giving you the power and tools to start living the life you love. I want to help people who are already functioning in their own right, become even more highly functioning. I want to help you reduce your stress and discover more balance, happiness and fulfillment in your life.

I want you to achieve as close to 100% satisfaction in every area of your life as possible. I'm so confident in you and my unique therapeutic approach that I can guarantee you'll feel significant and long lasting improvements within just 10 weeks of therapy.

Feeling nervous about coming for counselling/psychotherapy?
Many new clients feel nervous about opening up to a stranger. The thought of revealing our true feelings can be scary and lead to a fear of being judged. This is because we often judge ourselves quite harshly and expect that others will too (if they know what we are really like). As a counsellor and therapist I regularly undergo my own therapy and personal development work. This ensures that I never forget how it feels to sit in the clients' seat and can respond to the feelings of vulnerability that sometimes arise for everyone who goes for counselling and psychotherapy. It is a normal part of the therapy process to feel this, and by revealing ourselves and finding ourselves accepted, warts and all, we are enabled to heal at a deep level, move on in our lives and grow. As the therapeutic relationship grows you will naturally feel more at ease in the therapeutic process. My commitment is to your emotional and psychological safety and wellbeing. I will endeavour to always convey a sense of acceptance, warmth and empathy thoughout your counselling and psychotherapy experience.

As a practitioner of Zen Buddhism and with a special interest in the spiritual aspects of life, I believe that compassion and empathy are of paramount importance in the healing of emotional and psychological wounds. Too often we have been berated or berated ourselves in the hope we will shape up and get our act together. Too often our pain has been overlooked or ignored and regarded as too overwhelming or complex to deal with. Only in finding and expressing our true self can we find peace and lasting joy. It is my intention to provide the resource that will support you on this part of your journey with this process.
