About Counselling #01

Change flows from understanding and acceptance, not from criticism.

Counselling is an empathic, accepting process in which you will be deeply heard, helped in the clarification of your problem or situation, and facilitated in working towards a solution. It is safe and confidential, within BACP ethical guidelines. It occurs on a one to one basis for appointments of one hour duration, usually weekly or fortnightly.

Counselling and psychotherapy can help with any situation which has led you to feel anxious, low in mood, stressed or frustrated. They can help you see things from a new perspective and to find alternative solutions to your difficulties. They can also be used for personal development and transformation to facilitate changes in patterns of thinking and behaviour that may not serve you in your life. A person does not have to be in crisis in order to benefit from counselling and psychotherapy.

Clients have frequently reported a lift in mood, reduced levels of anxiety, increased energy and optimism, a new outlook and perspective on their problem and life in general.
